Sir Syed University v CBM
Sir Syed batted first losing Ghani for just 8 runs. Things did not get any easier for their side as they kept losing wickets too cheaply to ever capitalize on an innings. Subhan Khan, Rao and Ali Hashmi were the only players to show some resistance contributing knocks of 27, 18 and 24 runs respectively. None of the other batsmen put up a fight, throwing away their wickets to be bowled out for 124 runs in 18.1 overs. CBM bowlers were lethal, picking wickets when required giving nothing away. Shaikh Rafey lead the attack with his 3 wickets while Muhammad Ahmed and Zain Khan took 2 wickets each and the rest of the bowling unit kept chipping away.
In response CBM could not have had a worst start! After losing both their openers cheaply, the chasing side were reeling at 2 for 2 before Bilal Khan and Kashaan Ahmed fought back with knocks of 39 and 38 runs respectively to pull their team back in the game. However Sir Syed bowlers did well to contain the opposition with Momoon taking 2 wickets and the rest of the unit ensuring a tight line and length. After the pair were dismissed, none of the other batsmen could get their team over the line with only Shaikh Rafey giving his team a glimmer of hope with his 11 run knock. CBM fell short by only 1 run and ended at 123 for 6 in 20 overs.
Sir Syed University won by 1 run.
