Super Daddy Cricket Club welcomed Australian Journalist Dennis Freedman and his band of random cricketers at SKBZ ground this past Saturday. Super Daddys batted first and what a show they put on with Rehan Shaikh smashing from the front. His brilliant half century was joined by Omer Shahid who also knocked 22. The team then lost a flurry of wickets before a late surge of 20 by Shahzad Jumani helped his side reach 156 for 9 in 20 overs. Dennis was unfortunately decimated in his 3 overs going for plenty while Rehan took 2 wickets and Shams, Sikander and Taimoor picked up a wicket each.
In response, Dennis XI lost opener Jawad for 4 runs but things took a turn for the better. His partner Irteza stepped up to lead his side with a fantastic 70 not out off just 32 balls which included 10 boundaries. All eyes however were on Dennis whose first knock on Pakistani ground saw 10 off 14 before he was retired hurt. Things looked on course for the visiting side with Jamil knocking 29 and Rehan's 17 but the Super Daddys bowlers picked up a few quick wickets and pulled the game back. Wajid was the key bowler, outstanding in his spell, picking up a wicket and giving away only 5 runs in 2 overs. Shehzad, Babar and Naeem also picked up a wicket each. Dennis XI were restricted to 152 for 5 in 20 overs.
Super Daddy CC clinched victory by 4 runs.
