Shan XI batted first at the final of the All Stars t20 Championship this past Sunday. The team were off to a solid start with openers Imran and Amir contributing valuable runs with the bat with knocks of 31 and 24. One down Ali Jiwani carried the momentum forward with his blistering 31 off 14 but the team fell apart after that. The team lost a few quick wickets before Shoaib and Fahad scored 35 and 20 respectively to propel Shan XI to a competitive 171 for 9 in 20 overs. For ZamZam, Qadir was the key wicket taker with 4 wickets for his side while Fahad Ali Khan took 2 wickets to limit the opposition.
In response, Zam Zam lost opener Mehmood for duck and things did not get any better after that. The team continued to lose wickets regularly with Shan's bowlers striking when required to stop the flow of runs. Adeel Sabuwala was the most notable player for his side with a fighting 49 and was unfortunate to have missed his half century. None of the other players could keep their wickets intact or the scoreboard ticking and were limited to 144 for 8 in 20 overs. For Shan XI, Imran Zia and Fayaz Mukati took 2 wickets each with the rest of the bowling unit chipping in.
Shan XI won by 27 runs.
