Karachi Caveliers batted first against VMA as part of the 18th Challengers Cup. The team however were ripped apart by a brilliant show of aggression by Osama Ayub whose 3 wickets left the top order in shambles. Danish Rehan and Shahid Nepal kept the pressure on, taking 2 wickets each to restrict the Caveliers line up. With the exception of Mohib Ahsan whose heroic 64 off 42 saved his side, none of the other batsmen were able to keep their wickets intact and Karachi Caveliers ended at 133 all out in 19.4 overs.
In response, VMA also lost their opener Jahangir for just 7 runs but with a low total to chase, they always had the upper hand. Shahid Nepal's fiery 37 and Muqarram and Osama's cameos in their twenties helped cement the victory. Muhammad Rehan picked up a couple of wickets and while the Caveliers line up fought hard to pick up wickets, they were unable to defend the low total. Eventually, Saad Asif's 19 and 12 runs by Ali Bantwa saw the side home in 18 overs.
VMA won by 4 wickets.
