Muslim Gymkhana batted first at the Al Wakeel Cricket League against Kalsoft Knights losing their opener Saad Razzak shockingly for duck. His partner Adam Khalid and one down Ahmed Hussain however really came through for their side. Adam knocked an impressive 52 but it was Ahmed who stole the show with a blistering 94 which included 12 boundaries and 4 sixes. With a foundation set, once the pair were dismissed, minor contributions by the subsequent batsmen boosted Muslim Gymkhana to a very competitive 196 for 6 in 20 overs. Alishan Aslam who has been in prime form was the key wicket taker for Kalsoft Knights with 3 scalps. Hamid Shahid, Usama Khan and Shahbaz Aarbi also took a wicket each.
Kalsoft Knights started off strong in their chase with openers Ahmed Sharjeel and Asif Iqbal leading from the front. Ahmed contributed a handy 35 while Asif's 52 put the Knights well on track for a comfortable victory. One down Hamid Shahid kept the momentum going with 36 but nothing could have prepared the side for Salman Dossani. We aren't sure what he eats before he steps on to the ground but the star bowler was on fire, taking 5 wickets for just 22 runs in his spell to completely destroy Kalsoft Knights chances of chasing down the target. A string of quick wickets including 3 ducks lead to a complete collapse as Kalsoft Knights were dismissed for 166. Zeeshan Fattani had also picked up 2 wickets.
Muslim Gymkhana won by 30 runs.
