Gulshan Strikers batted first at the all important ASH Cup final against Karachi All Stars. Strikers openers Muhammad Jawad and Usama Afzal were outstanding from the first ball, building a brilliant century partnership. Jawad knocked 54 while Usama contributed 58 with the All Stars bowlers unable to break a through. Skipper Ammar Altaf finally dismissed Jawad but the batting side were unstoppable. Syed Rameez Uddin played a match winning knock of 61 not out to boost Gulshan Strikers to a mammoth 216 for 4 in 20 overs. All Stars bowlers were hammered to all ends of the grounds with only Amir picking up another wicket. Ammar was also responsible for 3 run outs but it was too little too late.
In response, Karachi All Stars completely fell apart. Opener Qasim and one down Yousuf were both dismissed for duck and it rained wickets after that. Sheriyar Niazi was the only batsmen to show any intent scoring a much needed 74 under pressure but he receive no support on the other end. The chasing side were simply outdone by a brilliant display of bowling by Strikers unit with Zaid Farooq and Abdul Haseeb taking 3 wickets each to rattle the opposition. Samad also chipped in with 2 wickets as Karachi All Stars were all out for just 145 in 17.3 overs.
Gulshan Strikers won the match by 73 runs.
