Shan Foods batted first against Sons of Pitches in an interesting friendly match. They had a dream start as their opener Adeel Shamsi smashed the opponents with his strenuous 61 off 42. Furqan Majeed’s 31 further steered the batting side towards a big total. Shakeel’s blistering 26 runs in the concluding overs helped Shan Foods to set a good score of 171 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. Sons of Pitches bowlers were overall not so impressive. They also gave a total of 18 extras out of which 17 were wides. Kumail Ally from bowling side claimed 2 while Jamshed picked up 1 wicket.
Sons of Pitches in their turn were very much into the game from the beginning though they were chasing a big total. The openers gave a solid start to their team and the following batsmen continued to build the wall of the victory on the base set by their openers. Noman Arfeen was the highest run scorer in the second innings scoring 48 runs. The other match winning performances were Zubair’s 31 and Kumail’s 41 runs. A ferocious knock of 24 and 22 runs by Irfan and Babar respectively in the end made it possible for the Sons of Pitches to cross Shan Food’s score just before the completion of allotted overs. Shan Foods bowlers collapsed to defend the target set by their batsmen. Except for Maqsood and Meraj’s 1 wicket each, the whole bowling unit was a complete disappointment. Sons of pitches chased the target of 172 in 19.4 overs.
