Cocoon Home batted first against Karachi Patriots in a competitive match of Legends Cup. Cocoon had a good start as Azhar Khan, their opener, got them off the mark with his striking knock of 46 runs at a dazzling strike rate of 184. Usama Baloch from the middle order ruthlessly destroyed Patriots bowlers and played an apocalyptic innings of 83 runs at a massive strike rate of 207. Due to the blistering performances of these batsmen, Cocoon Home set a big total of 188 runs on the scoreboard. The bowlers of Karachi Patriots were seemed completely helpless with their economies. They failed to seize the right wicket at the right time though they kept on taking wickets in regular intervals. Adeel’s 3 and Rizwan’s 2 wickets were the most prominent bowling figures from Patriots.
Karachi Patriots tried to play some fast game from the beginning to keep up with the required pace. Faisal Butt, the opener, played a sensible knock stabilising the position of his team. He made 38 runs off 22 balls. The batting team then started losing some wickets with short interval of partnerships between some of them too. But Adeel Abbasi and Adeel Sabuwala from the middle-order took the complete responsibility on themselves and made it to the end. Abbasi smashed 57 off 30 while Sabuwala drove his side towards victory through his 34 off 18. Patriots chased the target in 19 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. The bowling side completely proved to be a disaster wasting their batsmen’s hardwork. Except for Waleed’s economical bowling and Hasan’s 3 wickets, nobody from the bowling side was found keen to win the match.
