The collapse of their middle and lower order was ultimately the cause of downfall for the Mavericks, who lost to Al-Ameen Salt, at the Eidgah Ground this past Sunday.
The Mavericks seemed to be doing really well with opening batsman, Muhammad Shahrukh, scoring 50 runs from 35 balls, and the nest two batsmen, Aurangzaib and Usama scoring 35 and 26 runs, respectively. That’s where their momentum halted as the subsequent batting order fell after scoring just one run in total, courtesy of Al-Ameen’s bowling attack and poor running. They put up 127 in 17.3 overs. Al-Ameen managed to chase the total in 17.2 overs for the loss of 6 wickets, with their opponents having conceded 20 runs in extras. From the Al-Ameen bowling attack, Ahsanullah and Maaz Nadeem each took 2 wickets while Abdul Mujeeb, Maaz bin Salman and Kashif Ali each took a wicket each. Muhammad Khuzaima took 2 wickets for the Mavericks while Ikram Arif took one.
Al-Ameen’s effort successfully dismantled their opponents middle and lower batting order and was a decisive factor in the outcome of the match.
