Naseer Khan with 57 runs off 31 balls, along with Azhar Shah who smashed a 34 were two notable innings that led the team. Syed Wajahat and Faraz Khan with 3 wickets each were most successful with their bowling efforts. The innings by the two batsmen in the middle were enough to lead Al Baraka to a fighting score of 184 runs. However the team lost all their wickets on the second last ball of the last over.
The second innings were powered by the dynamic opening batting by Clayton DSouza and Faraz Taimuri. DSouza managed to hit 49 off 35 balls, with 8 fours and 1 six. In addition to this, Taimuri struck a 64 off 38 and hence was the highest scorer of the game. However, even after these stunning innings the bowlers dominated the game, as Imran Dad Khan and Muhammad Tayyab took 2 wickets each. The high score built pressure on Samba’s batting as they lost 7 wickets; therefore allowing the bowlers to defend the score.
As a result, Al Baraka sealed the match in the 20th over and clenched a close victory by 7 runs only.
