Bank Al-Habib faced Al-Baraka Bank on 20 February 2021 and emerged victorious, winning by 43 runs.
Bank Al- Habib batted in the first innings. They compiled 190 runs for the loss of 2 at the end of their 20 overs. Openers Shahid Ayyoub and Zakir Malik established a strong partnership. Ayyoub scored 50 off 39 balls and Malik made 42 runs. Umer Imtiaz and Mujahid Hassan played exceptionally well too. They stayed not-out and scored 59 and 27 respectively. In the bowling side, Tauqeer Rafiq Bajwa was blessed with 2 wickets.
Al-Baraka batting was not as impressive as the opposition’s performance. They lost 4 quick wickets, including the openers Mukkaram Jafri and Saad Ullah. Azhar Shah came in at number 5 and scored a decent 40. Shah remained the top-scorer of the innings. The rest of the wickets fell one after the other and even Imran Dad Khan’s effort of 20* off 12 went in vain. In their 20 overs, Al-Baraka managed 147/8. Bank Al-Habib’s Farhan Nisar bagged 3 and Waqas Imtiaz took 2 wickets. 1 wicket each fell to Jawed Kohistani and Badar Siddiqui.
Bank Al-Habib was able to defend their 190 comfortably, largely due to diligent bowling performance. They defeated Al-Baraka Bank by 43 runs.
