Big Buy Market defeated MAA Cricket Club in the semi final of the SPL Season 5.
Big Buy Market batted first and although they lost one of their openers early in the innings, the other opener Bilal Aslam played a brilliant knock of 111 off just 70 balls, including 12 fours and 5 sixes. He remained not out throughout the team’s batting innings and played an important role in providing stability to the team. His fantastic efforts, along with Kamran Ibrahim’s run-a-ball 17 runs and Haris Amin’s 24 off 18 balls brought the team to a total of 188 runs. MAA Cricket Club’s Saad Asif bagged 3 wickets.
MAA’s openers were off to a great start as Sohail Khan scored 39 off 19 balls and fellow opener Talha Ahmedani swiftly scored 71 runs, hitting 9 boundaries and remaining not out. Saad Asif also contributed 25 runs. Despite their efforts, the team was unable to chase down the target as they lost many batsmen for single digit scores. They ended up making 171 runs, and Abdullah Nawab claimed 3 wickets.
Big Buy Market won the match by 17 runs and sealed a place for themselves in the final.
