HBL Asset Management faced Sindh Bank on 20 February in the 1st Bankers Challengers Corporate League. It was a fairly easy win for the HBL Asset Management, who won by 27 runs.
In, the first innings, HBL Asset Management produced 176/7 in 20 overs. The competitive total is largely credited to two batsmen: Noman Ur Rehman and Abdur Rehman Sr. Opener Noman Ur Rehman scored 55 off 36 balls and Abdur Rehman Sr. made 58 off 42 deliveries. Ehtisham Junaidi’s knock of 21 runs was also noteworthy. Although they lost a couple of wickets, they were able to end up with a decent total. Mehrooz Hussain and Umer Masood Bhutto were bowlers who took 2 wickets each. Moreover, Kamran Khan and Raheel Waris both picked up a wicket.
Sindh Bank batted second and responded with a 149/9 in 18.4 overs. Kamran Khan made 31 and Muzaffar Hussain Siddique scored 24 runs. Although Raheel Waris looked set on the crease, he had to retire and the team was down to 10 players. Wickets fell in clusters and Sindh Bank found it difficult to create valuable partnerships. Muhammad Qasim picked up 3 wickets of Sindh Bank, and 2 fell to Noman Ur Rehman.
The second innings was wrapped up in 18.4 overs. Despite effort from Khan, Siddique and Waris, Sindh Bank fell short. HBL Asset Management won easily by 27 runs
