Ismail Shah’s 47-ball 87 Guides Royals to Victory in the 36th Challengers Corporate Final

In the final of the 36th Challengers Corporate game between Mavericks and Royals at the Gulberg Gymkhana, the Royals CC side outplayed the former and achieved a huge victory, winning by 6 wickets.

The Mavericks batted first on 30th January 2021, and produced a total of 147 for the loss of 10 wickets in 20 overs. They batted fairly decent, with multiple batsmen contributing to the total. Ahmed Asif stood out with his brilliant 41 off just 18 deliveries. He smashed 6 fours and 2 sixes and played with a strike rate of 227. 4 wickets fell to Ahmed Qureshi of the Royals and 2 for Naimat Khan Afridi. The rest of the bowling attack, Hammad Warrind, Ruman Ali and Abdur Rehman Sr. picked up a wicket each.

In the second innings, it was all about the batting performance of the Royals CC who chased down the score in 15.1 overs. Ismail Shah played an astonishing 87 off 47, with 3 fours and 8 sixes. Abdur Rehman Sr. contributed with his useful 27 and Ashraf Khan’s 15 off 6 won them the game in the end. The Mavericks bowlers picked up 4 wickets but were unable to stop the flow of runs. Saad Asif, Usman Ashraf, Owais Maskatia and Muhammad Anas Waheed each picked up 1 wicket.

The game ended with 4.5 overs remaining. The Royals stunned the Mavericks CC with a 6-wicket win and were crowned champions in the 36th Challengers Corporate Cup!
