Karachi Fighters and A.H CC came face-to-face on 21 February at the Asifabad Ground during the 27th Super Challengers’ Cup. It was all about Karachi Fighters who defeated A.H CC by a mammoth 109 runs.
Firstly, Karachi Fighters batted extremely well in the innings. The top-scorer was Irteza Khan who scored a brilliant 78 off 39 balls. During his beautiful innings, he hit 8 fours and 6 sixes. However, Noman Suriya was impressive too. He scored 40 runs in 17 balls, with 3 fours and 4 sixes. Lastly, Raheel Abbas’s cameo of 24 runs from 10 balls sealed a very high total of 199/7 for the Karachi Fighters. The bowling side did not have an amazing time in the first innings. Although Arsalan Shah picked up 3 wickets, his and his teammates’ efforts did not translate into tight bowling.
A.H CC, daunted by the total, started off strongly. The opener Hasnain Majid scored 22 from just 10 balls and looked threatening before he was bowled by Tauqeer Malik. The rest of the batting line-up failed to make a mark in the innings. Although Abdul Moiz played well, making 25 runs off 20 balls, A.H CC needed something more special to win the game. The innings in 16 overs, with A.H CC at just 90 runs. Karachi Fighters bowled exceptionally well. Tauqeer Rafiq picked up 3 wickets. Moreover, Muhammad Shafiq, Tauqeer Malik and Kamran Hasan Khan bagged 2 wickets each.
It was a thrilling win for the Karachi Fighters, who did well in all departments. They gave a massive total of 199 to chase and bowled out the opposition in 16 overs. The Karachi Fighters won convincingly by 109 runs!
