Up against Civil Aviation Authority, Bank Islami were completely outplayed in the 32nd Challengers Corporate Cup.
Bank Islami's first innings started off well, featuring a relatively decent opening partnership as opener Talha Naeem scored a blazing half-century. They seemed all set to launch from there but the bowling side bounced back well enough to cause a batting collapse. Nadeem Badar was the star bowler for Civil Aviation. His gritty and disciplined bowling earned him a five-wicket haul for just 20 runs. Combined with the efforts of the other bowlers, Civil Aviation bowled out the batting side for 155 runs with 3 balls to spare in the innings.
Continuing his impressive display from the first innings, Nadeem Badar also dominated the opposition with the bat to chase down 156. Striking at over 200, Nadeem posted a half-century to his name alongside his partner's equally impressive 75 off 38 deliveries. This opening partnership all but sealed the game for Civil Aviation with not much work left to do for the remaining batsmen. Bank Islami's bowlers could not pick up wickets at the right moments and let the game slip away easily.
CAA won the match comfortably by 8 wickets.
