Haseen Habib batted first against AVT at the opening match of the 1st Delhi Community Cricket League. It was a tightly fought contest with both teams hankering for their first victory. Haseen struggled to get going throughout their innings with their batsmen throwing away their wickets cheaply. Faizan Shoaib's 18 off 14 was the top score for their sidie as Haseen Habib were skittled out for 107 in 18.5 overs. AVT bowlers did well to keep the opposition in check, taking wickets consistently to stop the flow of runs. Abdullah Nawab starred with the ball with his 3 wickets while Farooq Zaki picked up a couple.
In response, AVT also had a similar day out with the bat, losing wickets throughout, unable to build a partnership to chase down the low total. Fawad Barry and Abdul Rehman were brutal in their spells picking up 3 wickets each while Hammad Shakeel picked up a couple. Farooq Zaki's 16 off 18 lower down the order almost saw AVT to victory but the side were eventually bowled out for 100 in 19.1 overs, falling just short of the target.
Haseen Habib clinched victory by 7 runs.
