Siemens CC defeated Air Pakistan Express Jet in the final match of the 34th Challengers Corporate Cup.
Batting first, Air Pakistan faced an early loss but their other opener Atif Baig made 17 runs off 12 balls to help the team post runs on the board. Shoaib Qureshi scored 30 runs off 33 balls including 3 boundaries while Saad Khalid swiftly scored 34 runs off 25 balls including 3 boundaries. Hussain Raza added 13 runs off 10 balls. Their efforts took the team to a total of 132 runs. Zain Jawed was the lead wicket taker of his side with 3 wickets, followed by Muhammad Ahmed Hussain’s 2 wickets. The bowlers performed well and managed to restrict their opponents to a low total.
Siemens CC were off to a good start as their opener Abdullah Fazal scored a run-a-ball 10 runs while the other opener Sami Ansari swiftly scored 36 runs and 30 balls including 6 boundaries. Muhammad Ahmed Hussain’s 21 off 19 balls along with Sikander Hasan’s 13 runs moved the team forward in their chase. Adil Ashfaq smashed 40 runs off 32 balls including 4 boundaries to take the team over the line. The team smoothly chased their target and the bowlers were unable to defend their team’s score.
