Ten XI defeated Shadab Sports in the final match of the Power Play Cricket Tournament held on Wednesday.
Batting first, Shadab Sports were off to a decent start as their openers Ahmed Kabeer and Osama Naeem made scores of 21 runs and 18 runs respectively. One-down batsman Muhammad Nawaz made 19 runs off 21 balls whereas Danial Asif scored 22 runs off 27 balls. Afzal played a swift knock of 35 runs off 17 balls including 5 boundaries. The remaining batsmen were unable to make meaningful contributions to the score and the team was dismissed for a low total of 120 runs. The bowlers performed well and picked up crucial wickets. Naveed Baloch and Obaid Ur Rehman bagged 3 wickets each while Umar Khan and Muneer Ur Rehman claimed 2 wickets each.
Ten XI lost one of their openers for just 6 runs however their other opener Obaid Rabnawaz played a brilliant knock of 71 off 64 balls including 6 boundaries. He was supported by Hamza Qadir who swiftly scored 37 runs off 36 balls. Both batsmen remained not out throughout the innings and steered their team to a smooth victory. Their efforts allowed the team to chase their target with ease in just 18 overs. The bowlers were unable to put pressure on the batsmen and could not defend their team’s low score.
Ten XI won the match by 9 wickets.
