ICT v ZamZam Sports
ICT batted first at the all important semi final of the KK Champions Trophy at Al Mansoora. ZamZam bowler Abdul Shakoor however was outstanding with the ball dismissing opener Adeel Khan for duck. His partner Taqi Azad however held on with a cameo of 28 but it was Ali Iqbal who truly lead the recovery. His knock of 63 runs came off just 39 balls to put ICT back in a strong position. Suleman Ghani took it a step forward with his innings of 43 runs. ZamZam bowlers did do well to strike the opposition with Shakoor's fighting 4 wicket haul and Mahmood Ali and Irfan Ullah picking up 2 wickets each. ICT were bowled out for 181 in 19.3 overs.
On the back of a winning streak, it was ZamZam Sports that needed to keep their momentum going but the batsmen fell short. Their star opener and one of the highest run scorers of the KK champions trophy Kamran Rehman was dismissed for just 6 runs. Sheroz Sabir and Abdul Shakoor then lead the recovery with contributions of 33 and 25 runs respectively but were deterred by Ahmed Moten and Talha Ahmedani. The pair took a combined 7 wickets to dismantle the chasing side. Captain Shahid Mukthar then stepped up with a fighting knock of 46 at a strike rate of 176 but couldn't find a partner on the other end. ZamZam Sports were bowled out for 159 in 19.2 overs.
ICT won by 22 runs and have secured a place in the final.
