Thanks to some outstanding knocks from Bilal Associates, they were able to beat Cocoon Home at the Naya Nazimabad Ground on Monday, by 18 runs.
Bilal Associates batted first and put on an impressive total of 161 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets and added 19 extra runs. Zakir Malik (33 from 13) and Ali Iqbal (44 from 27) performed quite well and were a major contributor to their teams victory. Cocoon bowler Kamil Mehmood took an impressive four wickets while Umer Farooq, Waleed Azim, Mir Aziz Ullah and Suleman Saleem took one wicket each.
A superb 62 from 41 by opener Maeez Waqar almost put Cocoon Home on the path to victory but they were stopped short of just that because the rest of the batting line-up failed to live up to the standard set and the team only scored 143 in 20 overs for the loss of six wickets compared to the 161 for 8 made by their opponents. In this innings, Arif Yaqoob took a hefty four wickets while Bilawal Malik and Saqib Khan took one each.
