Abu Bakar Associates played against Lal Qila Cricket Club this past Saturday. Batting first Abu Bakar were off to a shaky start with their openers being dismissed early on in the innings. The team lost wickets regularly, unable to gain stability at any stage. M.Nasir and Shoaib Virani made quick work of the opposition taking a combined 7 wickets to rattle the batting line up. Eventually it was Abdul Rehman's cameo of 15, Waheed Hussain's 22 and Ata Ur Rehman's 24 which propelled Abu Bakar to 130 all out in 19.3 overs.
In response Lal Qila lost opener Asif for just 1 run but his partner Nasir helped put up 14 runs. 2 down batsmen M.Usman put up a valiant 47 runs alongside Abdur Rehman's 14 but the team fell apart after that! Abu Bakar's bowlers came back strong with Waheed, Shahzad, Ata Ur Rehman taking 2 wickets each to limit Lal Qila to 118 in 20 overs. The most unlikeliest of wins!
Abu Bakar Associates clinched victory by 12 runs.
