Karachi Patriots v Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana
Karachi Patriots faced Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana in an important encounter of the16th Challengers cup at IBA University Ground. Nazeer Hussain batted first and scored 150 for 7 in 20 overs. Muhammad Faizan was the lead scorer with 73 runs off just 53 balls and his innings included three sixes and eight boundaries. Hammad Mughal also contributed a cameo of 23 and Hassan Qazi scored 19 valuable runs in the end. Adeel Abbasi, Rizwan Diwan and Adnan Ghazi got 2 wickets each for Patriots while Rizwan Merchant also got a wicket.
Patriots chase started off badly as Adnan Salim was out for a duck but Faisal Butt with 27 and Ghazanfar Richie with 38 stabilized the innings. Captain Adeel Abbasi stepped up to play a brilliant knock of 58 not out off just 40 balls which included three sixes and five boundaries. Patriots were over the finish line comfortably in 17.3 overs for loss of just 2 wickets. Faisal Mujtaba and Ahsan Zafar got a wicket each for Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana.
