Friends XI v ZMCC
Friends XI played against ZMCC at IBA cricket ground as part of the Alliance Sports League. Friends batted first and the openers were in fine form as Zohaib Ahmed scored 44 runs off just 29 balls while Tahir Iqbal knocked 42 runs off just 20 balls at a strike rate of 210%. One down batsman Irfanullah ensured the scoring rate did not fall with his explosive innings of 68 runs off 39 balls at 175% strike rate with some excellent shots all over the park. Qamar ud Duja's surge of 18 runs ensured that Friends XI ended at a mammoth 202 for 7 in 20 overs. For ZMCC, Shoaib did well to pick up 4 wickets while Ali N asim chipped in with 2 wickets and Afzal took 1 wicket.
Chasing a huge total, ZMCC batsmen were not up to the task and Sohail, Shahid and Mubashir departed early in their attempt to hit out and score in aggressive fashion. Afzal with 26 runs and Asad with 46 runs fought back along with 26 runs by Imran but ZMCC could only get to 166 for 8 in 20 overs. For Friends XI, Faheem and Ashar were the key bowlers for their side taking 3 wickets each while Syed Wali and Khurram picked up a wicket each.
Friends XI won by 36 runs.
