Smashers went out to bat in the first innings and they were off to a shaky start losing an early wicket without much on the board. Ali Alvi and Faizan Alam then got together and started the rebuilding process. Ali scored 20 off 13 balls with 5 beautiful boundaries whereas his partner was also looking in good touch as he smashed 38 off 24 balls with 6 fours. Those two batsmen provided a great platform for rest of the team and the middle order capitalized on it. Rehan and Muhammad Yousuf began the onslaught as they were in fiery form. Rehan scored 41 off 24 balls whereas 41 off 24 balls whereas Yousuf scored 39 off 24 balls. Smashers were smashing it to all parts of the ground and the cherry on the cake was put by Adeel Shamsi’s blitz, he played a blinder down the order to end the innings on a high. He scored 37 off 14 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. In the end, Smashers scored 218 in their 20 overs.
It was a huge target for Intellegal and they needed a bright start to have any sort of chance. And they got what they were after, a good start as their openers, Camran and Sohail got them off to a flyer. Sohail specifically was in terrific touch and scored a brilliant 39 off just 16 balls at a strike rate of 243, he was supported by Camran who smashed 36 off 30 balls with 5 fours. Once they were dismissed, Najam Butt came in and scored a run a ball 29. The innings was going at a good pace but soon after Najam’s wicket, downfall of Intellegal began as they lost wickets in a heap. Yousuf after his batting heroics, contributed with the ball as well, he was the chief destroyer with the ball as he picked up 3 wickets for just 19 runs. Jawad Ali also picked up 2 wickets and contributed in the team’s win. In the end, Intellegal XI could only manage to post 149 in their 20 overs.
