Young Challengers v Groove CC
Young Challengers batted first losing opener Zakariya and Osama early on before Salman took over the innings. He teamed up with Kashan for a match winning knock that helped propel his team to a competitive total. He smashed 79 runs off 50 balls including 7 boundaries and 3 maximums. Kashan also joined in with a fiery knock of 42 runs at a strike rate of 120. Young Challengers ended at 178 for 5 in 20 overs. Ammad was the key wicket taker for Groove CC with 2 wickets while Ali, Mansoor and Tariq picked up 1 wicket each.
Groove CC in response were outdone by a strong display of bowling by the opposition. Young Challengers bowlers gave nothing away with a tight line and length that kept the chasing side under pressure. Qasim was the most notable batsmen for his side, singlehandedly fighting to keep his side in the game. He put up an impressive innings of 6 runs at a mammoth strike rate of 200, including 5 boundaries and 1 six. He however could not find another partner who could keep their wicket intact and Groove CC were eventually bowled out for 161 in 20 overs. Salman was handy with the ball taking 2 wickets, along with captain Mudassir, who also took 2 wickets. Osama however starred with the ball, picking up 3 wickets to seal a victory for his side.
