Gulberg Gymkhana batted first against Alpha CC and lost opener Kashif Barooq for just 2 runs. The team continued to lose wickets after that and despite minor cameos and contributions, were unable to really get going at any stage. M Zubair contributed 24 from the top order but the real star was Hassan Qazi. The number 7 batsmen played a very valuable knock of 44 not out off just 26 balls including 4 boundaries and 2 sixes which boosted Gulberg Gymkhana to a respectable 144 for 8 in 20 overs. Alpha bowlers continued to pick wickets regularly with Umair Shaikh, Tahir Hassan and Adeel Shamsi taking 2 wickets each.
In response, Alpha CC were off to a strong start in the chase with both openers doing well to score runs at the top. Yousuf Halari scored 37 while Inam Agha contributed 30 runs. Faisal Mujtaba however fought back with the ball, taking 3 key wickets to pull his side back in the game. Eventually however, Fayyaz Warsi's 19 and Adeel Shamsi's 21 comfortably carried their side to victory in 16.4 overs.
