Karachi Club v Spartans
The third match of the 2nd ACM Gold t20 Night League turned out to be a run fest as Karachi Club won the toss and decided to bat first at Moin Khan Cricket Academy. Openers Talha Ahmedani and Rameez Mehboob were in deadly form as Talha hit 26 runs off just 21 balls while Rameez Mehboob hit the first century of the tournament and scored 112 runs off just 49 balls which included 13 boundaries and six huge maximums. Rameez displayed some exquisite shots in his innings as he hit the ball all around the park and batted at a strike rate of 228%. The other batsmen were also not to be out done as they took advantage of the average bowling display by Spartans. Faisal Butt hit a quick fire 69 runs off 29 balls which included five boundaries and four sixes at a strike rate of 237%. Karachi Club was poised for a total of close to 250 runs but their score was propelled higher by an extra ordinary knock by Adeel Iqbal Sabuwala who scored 56 runs off just 19 balls in which he hit seven fours and four sixes and batted at a strike rate of 294%. A last over blitz of 15 runs off 6 balls by Taqi ensured Karachi Club ended at a huge total of 299 runs for the loss of just three wickets. For Spartans, Ghazali Junaid got two wickets and Abdul Samad got a wicket.
The reply from Spartans was subdued and they kept losing wickets in attempt to score at a very high required run rate. They could bat only 14.5 overs and were all out for just 101 runs. Saqib top scored with 18 and Abdul Ghani got 16 runs. For Karachi Club, veteran player Rizwan Diwan displayed his experience as he got 4 wickets while Faraz, A Wahab, Aamir Noor, Sameer, Khurrum and Salman got a wicket each. A comprehensive victory by Karachi Club in their first ever match in the ACM Gold Night League.
