Black Caps played Nestle Star at Al Mansoora cricket ground. Black Caps batted first and were off to a bad start as their top 4 batsmen lost their wickets early. After this early setback, Anwarzaib and Khizar partnered and got the scoreboard ticking. Anwarzaib managed to score an excellent 79 runs off just 33 balls at a strike rate of 239% and his innings included 5 boundaries and six sixes and managed to tilt the momentum in his team’s favor. The best part about his innings was that he refused to succumb to the pressure of losing 4 early wickets and played his natural game. Khizer got 29 runs as Black Caps were all out for 179 runs in 20 overs. For Nestle Star, Asjid got 3 wickets, Shafqat got 2 wickets while Asif, Naveed, Zahid and Mazhar got a wicket each.
In reply, Nestle Star had a disastrous start as they lost 4 quick wickets. Raja with 26, Waheed with 19 and Zahid with 14 tried to fight back but their team kept losing wickets at regular intervals in the face of some excellent line and length bowling by the opposition. Nestle Star were eventually all out for just 109 runs. For Black Caps, Amir was the pick of the bowlers with 5 wickets while Shahbaz got 2 wickets and Khizer and Mujtaba got a wicket each.
Black Caps won by 70 runs.
