On the second day of the KK Women's Night Tournament being contested at the Kokan Ground, Athletic Club took on the Smashers in what turned out to be a well contested encounter.
Batting first, the Athletic Club got off to a decent start with openers Sana Ujooj and Hafsa Khalid scoring 11 and 7 runs respectively with 2 boundaries and a six between them. However the Smashers fought back with 2 quick wickets from Zareen Fatima to come back into the game. Subhana Tariq led the Athletic Club back on track with her 9 ball knock of 18 runs, which included 1 six and 2 boundaries. Athletic Club ended their innings at 61 for 6 in their 6 overs.
For the Smashers, opener Saniya was the lone batswomen to reach double figures, scoring 10 runs in 8 balls with 1 boundary in her innings. In the bowling department Rida Hussain was the only wicket taker taking 1 wicket for 8n runs in her 1 over. Due to a large number of extras, the Smashers could only propel their score to 53 runs in their 6 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.
Athletic Club won the match by 8 runs.
