Bahria and Sir Syed Claim Victory in Day 1

Master Oil t10 Inter University Day 1 Recap (Group A)

Indus University batted first against Sir Syed University on Day 1 of the t10 Inter University Tournament and struggled throughout their innings. Sir Syed bowlers were in form an on fire with Arees Ahmed Khan in particular turning up the heat. His 3 wicket spell proved lethal for the opposition giving nothing away. Asad Ullah also took 2 wickets as Sir Syed restricted Indus to a low 60 for 8 in 10 overs.

In response, Sir Syed University also lost a few quick wickets early on but skipper Ali Hashmi stepped in to save his side. He knocked an impressive 24 runs under pressure to take his side to victory. Sajid Nawaz was the key wicket taker for his side picking up 2 wickets but couldn't defend his team's total. Sir Syed chased down the target in 8 overs.

Match#2

Bahria University batted first against PAF Kiet and came out with guns blazing. The batting side were unstoppable posting a mammoth target of 117 in just 10 runs to leave the KIET bowlers helpless. It was a team effort with Hafiz Muhammad Jaseem's 34, Umar Riaz's 38 and a cameo of 14 by Touseef Riaz. Hamza Mujeed and Musaddaq Siddiq picked up 2 wickets each but couldn't stop the onslaught.

In response, PAF Kiet fought back with opener Nasir Hussain turning up for his side. He smashed 48 off just 32 balls including 4 boundaries and 3 sixes to pull his team back in the game. While the team continued to lose wickets on the other end, Musaddaq Siddiq's 16 and Faizan Masood's 17 kept their side's chances alive but they eventually ended at 105 for 6 in 10 overs. A valiant effort in vain.

Match#3

Sir Syed University batted first against Bahria University and collapsed against the opposition. With the exception of Usama Pasha's 26, 6 of the team's batsmen were dismissed in single digits as the Bahria bowlers continued to pick wickets. Umar Riaz and Hamza Altaf were sensational in their spells picking 2 wickets each with the rest of the team chipping in. Sir Syed University ended at 69 or 7 in 10 overs.

In response, Bahria University also stumbled in their chase losing their top 4 batsmen cheaply. Sir Syed University were right back in the game with things heating up before skipper Raja Qamar stepped in to be his side's hero. He smashed 32 not out to safely secure another victory for Bahria University. 2 run outs and 2 wicket spell by Arees Ahmed Khan almost had Sir Syed defend their low total but eventually Bahria chased down the target in 9.4 overs.
