Rising Stars Vs Dawson Stars
16th Challengers Cup
Rising Stars batted first and they were off to a reasonable start as their openers, Adeel Rizvi and Abdul Rehman looked to attack from the outset and played some solid shots at the top. Adeel scored 20 off 23 balls with 3 boundaries and his partner managed to score 22 off 19 balls with 2 fours and a big six. A good start was given by the openers and the middle order propelled the score forward. The next two batters, Talha and Hakim took some time initially but then played some good shots to take their side to a good position. Talha scored 34 off 33 with 3 fours and Hakim scored 25 off 24 balls. The innings was set for a big finish but instead it was Dawson Stars who came back roaring in the game and halted the scoring rate as they picked up quick wickets. Waqar Idrees and Abdur Rehman picked up most 3 wickets each and they were the leader of the group. It was a brilliant comeback from the bowlers and in the end, they restricted Rising Stars to just 126.
The momentum was with Dawson Stars and they took advantage of it. They were the firm favorites to win the match and started the run chase brilliantly. Though, they lost an early wicket in Khurram Ali but it never troubled them as the next pair, Aashir Ahmed and Haider Ali took the onus on to themselves and played responsible innings in the middle. Aashir scored a brilliant 52 off just 38 balls with 7 classy boundaries whereas Haider Ali scored 40 off 41 balls. The target was never really enough for Rising Star and Dawson Stars remained in control throughout the game. In the end, they got over the line with 2 overs to spare and with 7 wickets in hand.
