Falcons v Defenders
Falcons and Defenders played at SKBZ cricket ground as part of the 7th residence cup. Falcons batted first and Muhammad Jehangir Khan continued his good form from previous matches and batted at a strike rate of 202% as he got 93 runs off just 46 balls and was unlucky not to get to a century. He hit seven boundaries and eight sixes in his innings. Waqar Zubair got 27 runs and in the end captain Waqar Hafeez hit a quick fire 43 runs off 19 balls in an innings which included eight boundaries. Falcons ended at 209 for 4 in 20 overs. Wicket takers for Defenders were Naveed Nagda with 2 wickets while Sumair and Faraz got a wicket each.
In reply, Defenders started off well as Faraz got 53 runs off just 26 balls which included six boundaries and two sixes. Wasiq got 23 off 14 while Yousuf got 35 runs off just 18 balls. The batsmen who followed also played quick knocks as Agha got 29 off 17 and Asad got 18 not out off 12 balls to take Defenders home with 2 balls to spare and with one wicket in hand. For Falcons, Fayyaz got 2 wickets while Sumair, Okasha, Huzaifa, Sherry and Waqar got a wicket each and there were 2 run outs.
Result: Defenders won by 1 wicket.
