Dirty Dozen batted first against OGS in a friendly match of Sugar Bowl. Dirty Dozen did not have a shining start as they lost their opener and one down batsman for nothing. The other opener also got dismissed for 10 runs. But the middle came forward as a solid impenetrable rock. Umair Khan played a sensible and sensational knock of 69 runs off 50 balls giving his team a stability which he needed the most after the early totter. Another Umair further strengthened his side through his 35 runs. Both these batsmen had provided the stability to their team and it was a high time for someone to hit some big shots in the concluding overs. Bilal Akheem then came and perfectly executed the plan. He dexterously sent the ball out of the park for several times and smashed 46 runs in just 18 deliveries. This helped Dirty Dozen to set a humongous score of 203 on the scoreboard for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The bowling side was extremely poor with their line and length. They bowled a total number of 32 wide deliveries. This is where things went wrong for them. Kaleem Ullah was the only bowler from OGS who did justice with the ball as he picked 3 wickets in his economic spell.
OGS batsmen, in reply, did not get themselves much into the competition. They didn’t play according to the required run rate and hence failed to reach the target in the allotted 20 overs. Only one-down Mustafa showed some resistance and went for some big hits. He scored 56 off 35. Dirty Dozen bowlers did not have a very difficult job. They just had to stop the opposition from scoring too many runs and they easily limited them to 180 runs for 5 wickets. Umair’s 2 for 33 were the most prominent figures among Dirty Dozen bowlers.
Dirty Dozen won by 23 runs.
