DMC Hawks v MVW (The Chinioties)
DMC Hawks batted first and were off to a disastrous start, losing opener Riaz early on in the innings for just 1 run. The team struggled with the bat throughout the innings, unable to keep their wickets intact or the scoreboard ticking. The duo of Tariq and Tahir did well to restrict the opposition, picking up wickets at key times to disrupt the flow of runs. All seemed lost before Tayyab Nadeem stepped in to try and steer his team to recovery. He contributed a valuable knock of 49 runs that helped pull his team back in the game. Some poor running between the wickets however, lead to 3 run outs for his side. DMC Hawks were eventually bowled out for 134 runs in 20 overs.
With a modest total to chase, MVW were at an advantage early on in the innings. Openers Nadeem and Saad got their teams off to a solid start, scoring 22 and 21 runs respectively. The team however lost wickets in regular intervals, losing their momentum throughout the innings. Hawks bowler Romaan Zahid fought hard against the opposition, taking 2 key wickets for his side. Ahmed and Nabeel were the last two notable contributors for their side scoring 20 and 19 runs respectively before the lower order simply fell apart. The real tragedy occurred with 2 back to back run outs for duck leaving MVW short of just 2 runs.
