Karachi Patriots played against Defenders at New Navy Karsaz Cricket ground. Patriots batted first and were in a spot of bother as Sumair took a hatrick to dismiss Ayaz, Ahmed Usama and Haris Altaf off consecutive deliveries. Reeling at 14 for 3, Aamir Noor combined first in a 73 run partnership with Faisal Butt (42 runs off 36 balls) and then a 68 run partnership with Tayyab R Balagamwala (39 runs off 24 balls) to ensure Patriots ended at 155 for 5 in 20 overs. Aamir who had opened the innings carried the bat and remained not out at 66 runs off 55 balls at the end of the innings. Other than Sumair, Hamza and Agha Shah got a wicket each for Defenders.
In reply, Defenders lost Qasim early but Naveed Nagda combined with Faraz to stabilize the innings. When Naveed was out after scoring 40 runs off 36 balls, Faraz took charge and helped chase down the target with 11 balls to spare. Defenders only lost two wickets in the process as Faraz ended not out at 77 runs off 52 balls and Agha Shah helped the cause with 26 not out off just 17 balls. For Patriots, Sameer Ahmedani and Aamir Noor got a wicket each.
Karachi Defenders won by 8 wickets.
