Eagles CC batted first at the 8th Residence Cup against Hawks. Openers Rehan and Hassan knocked cameos of 22 and 26 before Jaleel stepped up to take it further. He smashed 44 off 25 including 3 boundaries and 3 sixes. Not to be outdone, captain Umer Chawla's blistering half century knock came at a mammoth strike rate of 192 to propel Eagles CC to an impressive 204 for 8 in 20 overs. Kaashan also contributed 23 runs. Hawks bowler Faraz Kazi was outstanding in his spell picking up 4 wickets. Hamza also chipped in with 2 wickets.
With a massive score to chase, Hawks required an extraordinary innings. After losing opener Idrees for just 4 runs, the team recovered quickly with his partner Ali Mansoor contributing 24 runs. Ibrahim, an in form Faraz Kazi and Asad Khan then set the momentum going and were looking to comfortably chase down the total at one stage with scores of 46, 58 and 23 runs before the trio were dismissed. Eagles CC did well to pull back the opposition with Zeeshan and Wajji taking 2 wickets each. Hawks were restricted to 189 for 5 in 20 overs.
Eagles CC won by 15 runs.
