In a semi-final of the 7th Challengers Cup, played at the Al Mansoora Ground, Faysal Bank took on JS Bank, in an encounter that saw the former team come out on top.
After electing to bat first, Faysal Bank were off to a shaky start, losing their top 3 batsmen for single figures. However, Talib Ali came out to score a responsible 26 runs with 2 fours and a six, to bring his team back on track. With the momentum set, Adnan Khan Tanoli came out all guns blazing to score a blistering 59 runs in only 26 balls. His cameo included 3 boundaries and 5 huge sixes. The JS Bank bowlers bowled well with Zulfiqar Lehri and Tauqeer Rafiq picking up 2 wickets each. Faysal Bank ended their innings at a competitive score of 145 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
JS Bank started their chase in a confident manner, with opener Zulfiqar Lehri scoring 25 runs in 18 balls with the help of 1 four and 2 sixes. Fellow teammate Amir Ali then added 39 runs in 30 balls (2 fours and a six) to give his side some chance of victory. However, the Faysal Bank bowlers were up to the task, with Adnan Khan Tanoli picking up 3 crucial wickets for 32 runs in his 4 overs. Rahil Sayani also pitched in with 2 wickets to his name. JS Bank were restricted to 125 runs at the end of 20 overs.
