Flame Fighters Win Close Finish

Flame Fighters won their match against the Royal Stars by seven runs, at the Al Mansoora Ground this past Saturday.

Flame Fighters batted first and were off to a solid start with their opening batsmen, Abdul Raffay and M Yaseen, making 23 from 11 and 21 from 11, respectively. Then came a superb knock from Rameez Mehboob who made 61 runs from 48 deliveries. Unfortunately, the rest of the batting order fell quickly after that and in 18 overs for the loss of six wickets, the team managed to score 147 runs. Royal Stars bowler Hasan Tariq took two wickets while Umair Nasir, Sumair Ali and Waleed Tariq took one wicket each.

Royal Stars were off to a comparatively much better start with their opening batsmen, Umair Nasir and Khizar Azam, scoring 39 from 17 and 62 from 43 respectively. However, much like their opponents, the rest of their batting order fell quickly having scored very few runs. They came very close to victory, managing to score 140 in 18 overs for the loss of nine wickets. Flame Fighters bowler Abdul Raffay took four wickets while Abdul Haseeb, Rameez Mehboob and Rameez Raja took one.
