Ground Hawks CC batted first in the all important final of the 2nd Fajr Sunday Champions against Victory Associates. The team did well to put runs on the board with each of their players chipping in to contribute. The most notable player from their side was without a doubt Mehboob Alam whose blistering 47 came at a strike rate of over 200 to boost Ground Hawks total. Zeeshan and Shayan also knocked cameos of 26 and 22 before an explosive late surge of 23 by Furqan propelled Ground Hawks CC to 162 for 5 in 20 overs. Victory Associates bowlers tried to pull the game back in several stages with their line up picking wickets in regular intervals.
In response, Victory Associates simply could not get going at any stage. Losing wickets too frequently to keep the momentum in their favour. Opener Amjad Jamil top scored for his side with a fighting 27 while Mubashir chipped in 20 lower down the order. Ground Hawks bowlers were in form and on fire with Dr. Adnan picking up 3 wickets for his side. Zubair Ahmed and Abdul Wahab also took 2 wickets each to bowl out Victory Associates for 121 in 18.3 overs.
Ground Hawks CC won by 41 runs.
