Hawks v Falcons
Hawks played against Falcons in the opening match of the 8th residence cup at SKBZ cricket ground. Hawks batted first and despite losing opener Ali Mansoor Zaidi for just 1 run, they recovered well from an early setback as Rameez Mehboob hit an aggressive 79 runs off just 43 deliveries in an innings that includes 10 boundaries and 3 sixes. Faraz Qazi partnered with him and got 46 runs off 27 deliveries while Zain got 42 valuable runs. Talha Butt’s 25 runs helped propel hawks to 212 for 4 in 20 overs. For Falcons, Amar, Mehmood, Arsalan and Waqar took a wicket each.
The response from Falcons was dismal as they continued to lose wickets continuously and only Sumair got 16 while Akmal and Shahzad got 14 runs each as Falcons were bundled out for just 97 runs in the face of some excellent line and length bowling by Hawks. For Hawks, Hasnain and Yasir took 3 wickets each while Saqlain got 2 and Rehman picked up a wicket.
Hawks won by 115 runs.
