ICI Pakistan batted first and were off to a perfect start. The dream combo of Noman and Mustafa smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground and made them look ordinary. Mustafa scored 49 off just 33 balls with 3 maximums and 4 fours whereas Noman scored 44 off 38 balls. Both openers were dismissed by Ayaz Ali but not before they did some damage. Ameen and Anees further propelled the innings with aggressive knocks of 31 and 24 runs respectively. Samba bowler Imran also picked up 2 wickets for his side. In the end, ICI Pakistan set a target of 167 runs in their 20 overs.
The first innings went well for ICI Pakistan and they were hoping for a similar result in the second. However Samba Bank were confident in their approach.The openers started well for Samba Bank and gave them a good platform. Farooq scored 15 off 15 and played a supportive role to Mujtaba who smashed 33 off 17 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. When the duo was dismissed, the middle order capitalized on the foundation set. Imran Qamar in particular was in great hitting form and he did not miss any opportunity to score. He batted with a strike rate of 158 and smashed 5 sixes and 2 fours during his magnificent innings of 62 from just 39 balls. He was partnered by Tahir who scored 24 off 21 balls. Hamza, Zeeshan and Salman picked up a wicket each for ICI but were unable to stop the onslaught. The score of 167 was chased down in only 17 overs.
