KARACHI PANTHERS vs ROYAL GROUP FALCONS

Karachi Panthers locked horns with Royal Group Falcons in this one sided fixture of the Al-Wakeel Cricket League. Batting first, Karachi Panthers were off to a decent start. Hamza Saleem scored 28 runs off just 13 balls while Asad Butt scored 17 runs off 13 balls. After the departure of the openers, Karachi Panthers gave away a few wickets in quick succession. But Muddasir Ul Haq and Madni produced a great partnership. Muddasir managed to score a brilliant half century as he made 53 runs off 39 balls, while Madni scored 50 runs in his 20 ball assault. Ahsan Arbab picked up 3 wickets while Fahad Saleem took 2 wickets. After 18 overs, Karachi Panthers posted 189 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
Royal Group Falcons needed to score at an enormous run rate of 10.5 runs, for which a solid start was needed. But a superb bowling spell by Madni made life difficult for the Royal Group Falcons’ top order. Shahbaz Afridi, Rasheed and Ahsan Arbab tried to take control of the situation with 24, 21 and 22 runs respectively. But chasing a huge total needs some extraordinary performances, which Royal Group Falcons lacked to produce. Madni took 3 for 16 while 2 wickets were taken by Saad. Royal Group Falcons could score only 124 runs and the match was won by Karachi Panthers by 65 runs.
