The opening match of the first KheloKricket Champions Trophy was held at New Navy Karsaz Cricket ground between Karachi Patriots and Gulshan Becks.
Patriots won the toss and fielded first. Gulshan Becks had a good opening partnership of 53 runs however once wickets started to fall, they couldn’t continue the momentum and eventually were all out for 129 runs. Kamran Ahmed top scored with 38 runs off 35 balls while Mujahid managed to contribute 20 runs off 21 balls and Ali Manzar's cameo of 19 runs off 15 balls. For the Patriots, Rehan Hanif got 3 wickets while Adeel abbasi, Ansar Anis Bhesania and Sameer Ahmedani got 2 wickets each. Adnan Ghazi also took a wicket.
In reply, Patriots started off aggressively as they managed 56 runs before the first wicket, Tayyab R Balagamwala was out after scoring 30 runs off 22 balls. Faisal Butt however carried his bat and managed an impressive 52* runs off 38 balls and was well assisted by Ayaz Bhesania who scored 18 runs. Becks bowlers Zohaib Khan and Vicky Ali got a wicket each while Kamran siddiqui took 2 wickets.
Karachi Patriots won the opening match by 6 wickets with 3 overs to spare
Man of the match was awarded to Faisal butt for his 52* runs not out off 38 balls.
