The 2nd match of the 3rd Acm Gold t20 day league match was played between Karachi Patriots and Titans Cricket club at Moin Khan Cricket Stadium. Titans won the toss and batted first and were off to a good start as Omair (21 runs) and Ieman ul Haq (35 runs) had a partnership of 58 runs at the start. However, after their departure, none of the other batsmen could contribute significantly as Rehan Hanif bamboozled them with a 5 wicket spell for just 20 runs and broke the back bone of the batting line up and only Shahzad managed anything significant with 19 runs and the team was restricted to 127 for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of 20 overs. For Patriots, Sameer Ahmedani and Afzal Gigi were the other wicket takers in addition to Rehan’s five wicket haul.
In reply, Patriots lost captain Tayyab R Balagamwala for 9 runs and Amir Motiwala was also out for 9. Faisal Butt, however continued to play his shots freely and scored a magnificent 69 runs unbeaten off 49 deliveries while Ghazanfar Richie scored 18 runs and Atif Ahmed got 15 runs as Patriots raced home with 3 overs to spare and with 6 wickets intact in hand. For Titans, Ahad got 2 wickets and Shahzad and Mansoor took a wicket each.
Karachi Patriots won by 6 wickets.
