In a group match of the 8th Challengers Corporate Cup 2017, played at the Al Mansoora Ground, Shan Foods came head to head with the Amadeus Super Cricketers, in a well contested affair.
Batting first, Shan Foods took off in a confident manner with opener Shiraz Ali scoring a well-paced 16 runs. The initial momentum was carried on by Saad Kaalia and Maqsood Ahmed who both played brilliantly to lead their team to a decent score of 141 runs. Saad scored a brisk 38 runs in 33 balls with 3 sixes to his name. However, it was Maqsood who was the main contributor with a solid 43 runs in only 27 balls, with 4 fours and a six to his name. For the Amadeus Super Cricketers, Zohaib Rizwan and Syed Wali Ullah were the strike bowlers, taking 2 wickets each.
The Super Cricketers began their chase in a positive fashion with Faizan Alam scoring a responsible 37 runs in 31 balls, with 4 classy boundaries to his name. However, Shan Foods fought back with Husnain Raza, Danish Farooqi and Maqsood Ahmed all picking up 2 wickets each. Thus with the constant falling of wickets, the Amadeus Super Cricketers could only manage 107 runs, before being dismissed with 2.2 overs remaining.
Shan Foods won the match by 34 runs.
