UBL Funds v MCB
UBL Funds batted first and had a horrific start to their game. The team lost opener Ehtisham for duck on the very first ball of the innings. Third man in Sohaib was also dismissed for duck and the team was reeling at one stage. Mashood Saeed then stepped in to stabilize the innings with a very valuable knock of 65 runs which included 7 boundaries and 1 maximum. The remaining batsmen were unable to show any resistance against the bowling attack, throwing away their wickets. Azhar was the only other notable contributor for his side with a cameo of 26 runs. MCB bowlers Umair and Talha lead the attack picking up 3 and 2 wickets respectively. UBL funds set a target of 149 in 20 overs.
MCB started off in similar fashion losing opener Tahir for duck. The team however recovered quickly with their middle order putting up a strong performance. Atib and Furqan Ali were the most notable players for their side with an impressive innings of 51 and 32 runs respectively. After the duo were dismissed, wickets fell very quickly putting MCB in danger of falling short of the total but they were eventually able to get over the line with 2 wickets in hand. Nayyar Jamal and Moiz Baig took 2 wickets each for UBL Funds. MCB chased down the target in 18.4 overs.
