Southend Hawks v Southend Kings
Southend Hawks and Southend Kings played a high scoring match at Southend Club Cricket ground. Hawks batted first and while majority of the batsmen failed, it was a one man show as Mustafa Ali opened and hit 138 runs in just 72 balls at a strike rate of 191% and his innings included 14 boundaries and 6 maximums. Only Imtiaz could get into double figures as he got 29 runs while the rest of the batsmen floundered but the brilliance of Mustafa’s innings ensured that hawks ended at a mega total of 211 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. For Kings, Ali took 3 wickets and Zeeshan and Nabil Ahmed got a wicket each.
In reply, Kings top order batsmen got starts but couldn’t capitalize as Hamza got 13, Haroon 18 and Bilal 19 runs. Ali Ahmed fought back with 52 runs and Bilal with 18 and Saud with 16 runs but Southend kings ended at 172 for 8 in 20 overs. For Hawks, Mustafa and Khalil took 2 wickets each while Junaid, Kashif and Moazzam picked up wicket each.
Southend Hawks won by 39 runs.
