NCC v Khatri Fighters
NCC batted first at Hill Park cricket ground early Sunday morning. Opener Hammad was in sublime form smashing an impressive 94 runs which included 10 boundaries and 5 sixes. With him leading from the front, his partner Sohail contributed a cameo of 21 runs and minor knocks helped propel NCC to a competitive 164 for 3 in 20 overs. Khatri Fighters bowlers struggled to pick wickets, giving away too many runs with only Sibghatullah and Asim Hameed taking 1 wicket each.
In response Khatri Fighters lost their top order cheaply before Muzammil Ghafoor stepped in to become the hero of the day. His 68 run innings was the turning point of the match and came at a strike rate of 178. Despite receiving little support on the other end, Ali Raza Ghulam Farooq stepped up to contribute a valuable 20 run cameo that helped his side over the line. NCC bowlers fought hard with Bilal, Abdul Hassan and Imran picking up 2 wickets each but were unable to defend their team's target. Khatri Fighters chased down the target 18.1 overs.
