NHGK Wins It With An Exciting Chase

NHGK Vs Rising Stars

Rising Stars batted first and weren’t off to a start they were looking for, because of Adeel Rizvi’s early dismissal at a duck. Zia however covered some of the damage and scored 48 runs, but sadly lost his wicket to Faisal Mujtaba, who was on fire in this innings. Haji came in at number three and scored 12 runs, followed by Taha Mehmood’s 34 runs. This was the end of Rising Stars batting performance, because every batsman that came in after was brutally dismissed by Faisal Mujtaba and a few other bowlers. Faisal Mujtaba was in top form with the ball and picked up 6 wickets. The entire team was bowled out in 17.5 overs at a total of 134 runs. They weren’t even allowed to finish their innings properly and set a target.

NHGK had their hopes high from the beginning, but that didn’t serve them well because they lost their initial 3 wickets in very quick successions. Mustafa Fattani took 2 wickets at the start of the second innings, which was an alarming situation for the NHGK. But when Farukh Rizvi stepped on to the pitch things took a 180-degree change. He and Hammad Mughal carried 54 runs partnership, followed by M. Faizan and Muhammad Ahsan Zafar’s partnership of 48 runs. This gave their team a break through and brought them close to the victory. In the end Hassan Naqvi finished the game with his 8 runs knock. They were able to chase the target in 19 overs.

NHGK won by 4 wickets.
